Steps in the Android app

Open the Social Mapia app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
Open Menu and tap Settings.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account (in red).
Tap Delete my account, then confirm with your current password and type DELETE. (If you signed up with Google and never set a password, typing DELETE is enough.)

Go to socialmapia.app and sign in.
Open Settings from the menu.
Scroll to Delete my account, confirm with your password (or type DELETE if you signed up with Google), and confirm.

Your profile and pins are hidden from everyone at once, you are signed out everywhere, and your phone stops getting notifications.
You have 30 days to change your mind: sign back in and your account is restored exactly as it was.
On day 30 your account and content are permanently erased.

Your profile (name, username, bio, links, profile and cover photo) and your sign-in details
Your pins, photos, clips (video reels) and drafts, including the files on our servers and on our video host
Your Moments (“been there” photos and captions)
Your Plans and saves, collections, and who you follow
Your notifications, and the device push-notification tokens for your phone (removed straight away)
Your usage events, email history and cached link-preview pictures

Legal hold: Indian law (IT Rules 2021) requires us to keep basic registration details (name, username, email or phone, sign-up date, security log) for 180 days after an account is closed, in locked storage, used only for investigations or legal requests. Content removed for breaking the law or our rules is kept for 180 days for the same reason.
Backups: daily backups are overwritten after 14 days, so deleted data can remain in a backup for up to 14 days.
Support messages you sent us are kept so we can answer you and for safety reasons, but your name is unlinked from them.
Business pages you claimed stay on Social Mapia (they describe a real place) but are unlinked from you; your proof-of-ownership documents are deleted.
Phone sign-in record at Google Firebase: if you signed in with a phone number, email us and we will delete this record by hand within 30 days of your request.
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for up to about 30 days.
