Community Guidelines

Social Mapia is for finding and sharing places worth going to. Keep it real, kind and legal. These guidelines apply to pins, reels, photos, Moments, profiles, business pages and offers. Breaking them can get content removed or your account suspended. The full rules are in our Terms.

Be real

• Pin real places, with the right location and honest details.
• No fake reviews, fake views, fake follows or fake offers. Don't pay or swap for saves.
• Only claim a business you actually own or manage.
• Paid or free stuff? If a place paid you, gave you something free, or you have a deal with it, say so in the caption (e.g. "#ad" or "Invited").
• AI-made or heavily edited photos/videos must be labelled. No deepfakes of real people.
• Don't pretend to be another person, creator or brand.

Only post what's yours

• Post photos and videos you made, or have permission to use.
• Music: use only music you have the right to use (your own, licensed, or royalty-free). A song that's allowed on Instagram isn't automatically allowed here. Reels with unlicensed music may be removed after a copyright complaint, and repeat infringement leads to account closure.
• Ask before showing people's faces up close, and never post someone in a private or intimate situation.

Be kind and safe

Not allowed:

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate against anyone for their religion, caste, ethnicity, tribe, region, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
• Nudity, sexual content, or anything sexual involving anyone under 18 (we report this to the authorities).
• Sharing intimate images without consent — report it and we act within 2 hours.
• Violence, glorifying terrorism, or encouraging self-harm.
• Posting someone's private information (home address, phone number, ID) without permission.

Stay legal

Not allowed:

• Selling or promoting illegal goods or services, drugs, weapons, or illegal betting/gambling.
• Scams, misleading offers, or false information that could cause harm.
• Content that threatens public order or national security, or breaks any law in India, Nigeria or where you are.
• Viruses, spam, scraping, bots, or trying to break the site.

Offers

• Offers must be real, honoured, and have a clear end date and conditions.
• Don't hide important conditions (minimum spend, days, limits).

If you see something wrong

• Tap "…" → Report on any pin, Moment, profile or offer, or Block the account.
• Or email info@socialmapia.app — you don't need an account.
• We acknowledge within 24 hours and act within 7 days (36 hours for unlawful content; 2 hours for intimate images shared without consent).

What happens if rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is: we remove the content → warn you → limit features (e.g. no new pins) → suspend → close the account. Serious cases (child safety, threats, intimate images, fraud) can skip straight to closure and a report to the police. We'll tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision by replying or writing to info@socialmapia.app.
